Baby books

I pulled out Gracie's baby books the other day and we were looking through them together and Gracie stopped and asked "where is my little sister’s book at mom?" I had to reply, "well, I have not started working on it yet" and went to the store later and picked up a book.... Gracie had quite the elaborate scrapbook created by this time while I was pregnant with her. So we have started working on one, so far only a handful of ultrasound pictures fill up baby's book, not 10+ growing belly pictures..... So I gave in and handed Brian the camera.

Shopping without a list

All this warm sunny spring like weather has given us spring fever. But just cause it's warm and sunny does not mean you can't wake up the next morning to 6" of snow... For now, it's nice weather!

So on with my story. Warm weather and plans of growing a much better garden this year, off we went to the local farm store to get our seeds and get our starts going. I figure aww, we don't need a list, seed packets have pictures and we know what we want to grow this year. We will pick up some seeds, starter tray and see if there is anything else we need. WELL I make lists for a reason, if it's not on my list, I don't get it. When you take Brian and Gracie along and no list you end up coming home with more than you were initially going for......

Bringing home baby chicks is not that far off the "food source" shopping trip, right??? I guess if they don't lay enough eggs we can just eat the chickens! :)

And we are having a........!

*Disclaimer* I cannot be held responsible for any money lost on bets, cause I even lost!

We are having another baby GIRL!!!!!!!! Ha ha, the "Dennis" gene can be trumped!

Aside from that, who wants to volunteer to come and help out in oh, say, 10 years when we have 2 pre-teen/teenage girls taking over??????

We are thrilled and shocked all at the same time to find out we have another girl on the way. I did however make the doctor check 2 more times to be sure! :)

Everything looks healthy and normal! We compared baby's measurements to Gracie's and this one will be in a close tie with Gracie's size.......

Really, is that necessary????

When you have animals you never know what to expect, and apparently my dog and horse are board….. Every evening I go out and do my nightly chore routine, feed the horse, check everyone’s water, close gates, yada, yada ect.

WELL, last night as I am trying to get Gracie settled down and ready for bed I hear the doorbell ring, it’s our neighbor, and next I hear “does your mom know that Twister is out?” Um, NO…. Sure enough I peek out the window only to find Twister and Sadie playing a game of tag in the yard! So I scramble to get my boots and coat on, tripping over Gracie who is running around in her Tarzan outfit telling me “I will get my rope and rope ‘em and whoop his butt mom!” Me, “Gracie you just stay put in the house, I will handle it!”  I wade through the snow to the barn to grab the halter all while the dog and horse are “playing” around and Gracie is screaming out the back door at them! Just as I get the halter and run across the yard, the horse and dog stop to look at me, (remember I am fat, in muck boots and there is a foot of snow) I swear the two are just laughing hysterically at me in animal language! THEN the two hooligans look at each other and Twister trots off into his pasture stops and turns back and waits for me to close the gate!  Really!!!!!! ERRGGG!!! So I trudge to the gate close it and tie it shut for extra measure, yell at him and the dog “BAD HORSE & BAD DOG!!!!” and a few swear words (cause that made me feel much better) then lock the dog in the kennel! Then I get a “GOOD JOB MOM, you got ‘em!”

So yeah, apparently they are board….. Or just like to watch the fat lady try and run in the snow! Sorry there are no pictures of this charade!

Cravings!

So occasionally in some instances pregnancy creates cravings. This was very true when I was pregnant with Gracie, so much so I probably should have bought stock in  Ben & Jerry's Ice cream. Brian indulged in that craving with me, there was of course a lot of arm twisting to get him to join in (not really)!  With this pregnancy I would much prefer pickles, anything citrus, and think I could quite possibly live on meat and cheese! Brian, I am pretty sure was expecting me to crave sweets non stop again or he is having withdrawals from me baking because I woke up to these scrumptious homemade cinnamon rolls!

Now don't think just cause a jar of pickles is my best friend that I would turn these down!!!!
(ppssst...after almost 9 years of marriage I am accomplishing the almost impossible, training of man!) :)

Let the bet's start!

Update on baby #2! Had a check up today, we are now 17 weeks along. Doctor reviewed everything and asked if we wanted to know if we are having a girl or boy. Well yeah, of course we want to know! So he took a quick sneak peak with the ultrasound, and......we still have to wait 4 more weeks for the next ultrasound to find out, sorry! Baby had his/her legs squeezed so tightly together there was no way to tell, and would not budge. I have been feeling baby move more and more each day and have another karate kid. So far the only thing similar to this pregnancy and when I was pregnant with Gracie, is they both are movers! Other than that everything to this point has been different.
So the big day is in 4 weeks, on March 5th, so let the bets roll in; Girl OR Boy?

A shot of adrenaline? Why sure!

So there is a sport called "Snow Kiting" that is done here that in my opinion is pure craziness! I am sure it's done in other places too, I was just made aware of it today however. It involves a snow covered hillside, wind, a BIG kite, skis or snowboard and one crazy person who I must point out at least wears a helmet! From what I witnessed, the objective is to catch a big wind as your coming across the mountain and try to catch air, the bigger the better..... Very cool to watch, but you'll never see me doing it! (If you click on the picture it will zoom in)

The view coming off mountain.
