Our little girl Presley Ann has arrived! It was a few days ago, sorry on the late notice....
Presley Ann was born on July 4th at 3:36PM. She weighed 7lbs 8oz and was 19" long.
Miss Gracin is thoroughly ecstatic to have her baby sister here and is loving every minute of it!
As for myself and Brian we are adjusting to having two adorable little girls, although it may take some time to adjust.... :) Our little family is now complete!

Why waste water?
So if you did not know, UT has been exceptionally HOT this spring/summer. In order to keep a 5 year old and a very pregnant mom happy, I reluctantly bought a blow up kiddie pool. I say reluctantly because it is quite difficult to keep a pool clean with the amount of wind and fires we have right now. I would much prefer a slip'n slide or something! But it's hot and ya gotta find ways to cool down! Anyway, another hot day is among us and the plan this morning was to dump and clean the pool out and try to convince Gracie we should just play in the sprinklers today! Like usual, she had other plans.......
Had to take a break to re-fuel!

What a week!
What an exciting, crazy busy week it’s been and it’s only Wednesday!
A lot has happened so far this week (aside from Brian’s pliers’ incident).
Gracie had Kindergarten registration and testing on Monday, passed everything
with flying colors even the hearing portion (so we know she can hear us she just chooses not to
listen…). Tuesday, wow Tuesday…started by Brian and I getting a crash course in
having 2 girls. We babysat the neighbors baby for a few hours and it went
pretty well. So hopefully that means we are ready cause I don’t think we can
turn back now! :) Then it was off for a doctor appointment to check on our
baby, everything looks good, she is growing rapidly of course. They will be doing one last
U/S next week to check her lungs and the fluid level around her then we will be making a
delivery decision! Then we had to rush back for two dress rehearsals for Gracie’s
Dance group. In between rehearsals, hair and makeup we were able to scarf down
some dinner then it was off to the recital! And Wednesday, Pre-School
Graduation which means the last day of school and it’s now summer break! Oh
yeah, and somewhere in the mix of all of it, was work….
Such a crazy busy week filled with so much emotion, mainly happiness
and being very proud of our little girl!
Here are some of the exciting times! One of which is the "Daddy Daughter" dance, yes Brian actually had to get up in front of people and DANCE, well kinda! The video stinks because I could not get a good spot to record, but at least I did get some of it! Even with crappy video, it was adorable to see Gracie and her daddy dancing together!
One of the other dances the girls did was "Fireworks" and it included sequin shirts and pom poms! What little girl does not love that!
At the very end of the recital there were awards from the year, and to our surprise Gracie won an award! She won "Most Improved Dancer" for her division. Here she is getting her award and holding up her prize!
And today's Pre-School graduation! The kids had a cute little ceremony which included them singing to us, and then it was down to business with their diplomas! :)
That pretty much wraps it up! Things should settle down now that school is out and we only have T-Ball and a new baby on the way, right????? :)

Extreme parenting
*Disclaimer* This post is solely of my opinion, and a bit of a rant. If your offended I am sorry, and if you don’t
like it don’t read it!
So the other night there was a 20/20 episode on with Barbra
Walters “Extreme Parenting” and since my nights lately involve very little
sleep I stayed up and watched it. In case you did not see it, she was
interviewing parents that in the public eye would be considered extreme, such
as the dad who shot his daughters laptop with his .45 because she posted some
quite disrespectful stuff to Facebook. As well as some other parents who take
things to the “extreme.” I must be behind the times or something or maybe I was raised by one of these extreme
parents??? All I saw was parent’s BEING
parents, but in today’s world it is quite rare, like so rare you have a better
chance of seeing a Bigfoot than a parent saying “NO” to their kids! Am I
claiming I am parent of the year, in no way shape or form! Have I screwed up
somewhere along the line, of course I have and will probably make many more
mistakes! But that is part of being a parent. There are far too
many out there that just take the easy road, letting their kids to what they
want when they want. They say “oh, they’re just being kids” when in fact they are
running wild. It is easy to turn your head the other way and not deal with them.
Many times I would rather turn my head and not deal with my kid having a temper
tantrum because I told her she can’t have something, but what does that teach
them. Would it be less of a scene in a grocery store to say yes to every “mommy
I want this”, sure it would! Now before you all think I am some hard ass drill sergeant
mom, I am not. I believe that kids should be kids, have fun but they also need
to learn responsibility, respect and have rules. Why? Because it will help them
become responsible respectful adults who will be an asset to society not a
drain on the system. In our house we have fun but we also have rules.
We all have received email forwards about how life was back
in the day, ya know the ones about playing outside till the sun went down,
riding in cars with no car seat or seat belt, and TV having only 3 channels (if
you were even lucky enough to have TV). Well this brings me to my next rant (which
pretty much goes side by side with parenting). How many parents have you heard
say they feel overwhelmed by the amount of work a kid is and life is too hard and stressful? Really? Did you really think having a kid is easy? So what do we do
in today’s world, we give a “happy” pill so life feels better! And what about
little Johnny who just can’t focus or has a little too much energy? Oh, he gets
a pill too to “treat” his ADD or ADHD. This stuff hardly existed 20 years ago!
Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying there are not real medical reasons and diseases
out there that need help and medication. Without today’s technology and
medicine there are a lot of people who would be suffering. But let’s take a
real hard look at the world now compared to um “back in the day!” Lifestyles
are extremely different I get it, and it’s not the 1950’s anymore. But today’s
children are out of control, drugged and obese because it’s too hard to tell them no! I don’t
think so. Turn off the damn TV’s, computers, i-thingy’s, video games and put
forth a little more energy! Be involved with your kids, learn how to set boundaries, provide healthy food options,
get outside, play and be active!
You may be wondering why I feel the need to rant and rag on parents?
Maybe it’s the raging pregnancy hormones on overdrive, but I would say a good 90%
of it is how blown away I am at some parents, kids and society. Like I said, maybe I
am behind the times or maybe it’s because I was raised different. When kids
come to play at our house and ask "what’s that?" (pointing to a chore chart) when
it’s explained to them the oddest look comes across their face and they tell me
“oh I don’t have to do that, my mom and dad let me have what I want!” Or when
my doorbell rings at 9pm and there is a child asking if mine can play and I
tell them no because it’s after bedtime and my kid is already asleep, they tell me “I don’t have a
bedtime.” The parents haven’t the slightest clue where their kids even are. Back to obesity and hyperactive disorders, take a look at what your kid is
eating. Candy, cookies, chips are not a snack, vending machines in schools with options
of sugar or more sugar is not ok, nor is school lunches over loaded with unhealthy over
processed food and a drink option is juice or chocolate milk. Could
this be the cause of some problems? Well duh, it’s not rocket science, come on
people, let’s get real!
It’s easy to turn your head the other way and just accept that’s
how things are and spout off a dozen excuses of why you don’t do anything about
it. Well I don’t find it acceptable and I am one of those moms that others may find annoying, overbearing, full of
rules and pushy! Call me “extreme” I call it parenting!
By the way, thank you to my mom, step-dad, dad &
step-mom for being an “extreme” parent! I may not have liked it as a kid but it
has taught me to be the adult I am today and I hope that makes you proud!

Watch out major league!
Gracie had her 1st T-Ball game tonight and she sure tried her heart out! For a dozen 5 year olds trying to figure out which way run around a ball field and "focus" on the ball for more than 30 seconds, I would say they did pretty good!
Pep talk before the game (Gracie is #7)
Up to bat!
Go Gracie Go!
Manning 2nd base!
Gracie is thrilled to play, she said after her game tonight she thinks she is ready for softball......

Making mom proud
For quite some time now Gracie has been bugging me about riding Twister (my cutting horse). I guess it's kind of my fault because I told her last year that if she would help out with taking care of him I would help her learn how to ride and eventually she could take him over and he would be her horse. Well there is very little she forgets, unless its things she does not want to do....
Ever since the sun started shining this spring I have heard a never ending "Mom, can I ride Twister yet?" So today Gracie and I saddled him up and they went for a short little trail ride up the road (with me walking along side of course). Twister has not been saddled or ridden since my last show in November so I was a little nervous, but he was good and acted like he never missed a day!
I am so proud of my little girl being such a "Cowgirl" and having no fear! Some days I wish she did have a little fear but that's how they learn and it makes her who she is! Also just a little proud of the little cutting horse who was misunderstood and no one wanted because he was crazy who is now turning into a pretty amazing horse!
